This garment is the very first piece of the JTND Original Dye Collection (#001).
It was hand-dyed personally by SUNAMITSU using one of the world's oldest natural dyes: Indian Madder (茜 - Akane).
​Madder is not a gentle flower; it is a powerful "Root" dug from the earth.
It carries the energy of the sun and the soil. The color is not a bright, synthetic red. It is a deep, rusty, calming, yet incredibly passionate hue. It looks like dried blood or burnt clay.
​I dyed this piece with my own hands, fully embracing the imperfections. The color shows traces of the dye bath's temperature, the movement of my hands, and the air of that specific day. It breathes.
​This is the embodiment of our concept: "Gentle & Grotesque."
The natural origin is "Gentle," but the raw, uneven energy of the hand-dyeing process is "Grotesque" and real.
